About the role
Position Overview:
We are seeking enthusiastic and responsible volunteers (ages 14+) to assist with our children's acting summer camps. Volunteers will support instructors, help create a fun and inclusive environment, and gain valuable leadership and theatre experience.
Hours:
Flexible! You tell us when you are available! Available hours are Monday-Friday in July & August from 9:00am to 4:00pm.
However, we are hoping to find a volunteer that can come on the following dates:
-Tuesday, July 15th-12-4pm
-Wednesday, July 23rd (any hours)
-Thursday, July 31st-12-4pm
-Tuesday, August 12th-12-4pm
-Week of Aug 12th-15th: Any hours would help
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist instructors with daily activities and games
- Help set up and clean up materials and spaces
- Supervise children during breaks and transitions (alongside staff)
- Model respectful and inclusive behavior
- Encourage participation and cheer on young performers
- Help with costume and prop distribution
- Be a positive role model and team player
Qualifications:
- Enjoy working with children
- Reliable and punctual
- Willing to follow direction and take initiative
- Interest in theatre or performing arts a plus
- Friendly, playful, and respectful attitude

About Sparx Studio
Sparx Studio offers a beneficial, inclusive and enjoyable approach to acting that teaches social-emotional skills to children.
Sparx Studio is the first of its kind kids education-based acting studio. Children will experience acting in a fun environment that is inclusive, positive and educational. The inspiration behind Sparx Studio was to design a program that teaches kids invaluable life skills, such as how to deal with bullying, anxiety, inclusiveness and public safety while boosting confidence, creativity and independence. Through a fusion of education and acting, Sparx weaves learning objectives used in Ontario's curriculum into a variety of popular and fun acting activities.
