THE ROLE – MANUFACTURING OPERATIONS EMPLOYEE
Browning Harvey Ltd. currently has an opening for position at our St. John’s facility. This role initially is classified as temporary (starting hourly rate $24.79/hour), these positions are anticipated to lead to permanent roles (after successful completion of the probationary period and 3000 working hours) that include industry leading wages ($38.14/hour), a progressive vacation schedule (up to 5 weeks), company paid uniform allocations, group benefits (including health and dental) and a pension plan. This is a unionized position with NAPE Local 7003.
The incumbent will be responsible for a variety of roles utilizing state of the art manufacturing equipment, including sanitation. Shift requirements would typically be 6:00am-3:00pm or 3:00pm-11:30pm if working in production or shipping and when crewed for a sanitation role, the incumbent will be required to work a shift that runs from 8:00pm until 4:00am. It is a requirement when being hired for this role that the incumbent is available and comfortable with working any of these shifts. Shift scheduling is only able to be completed the day prior which candidates must be comfortable with.
THE CANDIDATE
The ideal candidate will have:
- Completed technical training in industrial trades, food safety or manufacturing;
- Have strong technical skills relating to the operation of industrial equipment;
- Superior oral and written communication skills;
- Will be comfortable working a flexible schedule based on business requirements;
- Must be able to work with a diverse group in a dynamic environment;
- Working in a setting with heavy equipment and hazardous materials will also be required;
- Prolonged standing and walking with moderate lifting requirements for duration of shift will be necessary.

- Forklift Licence (preferred)
