Description
Retail Assistant Supervisors provide exceptional retail know-how, overseeing daily sales and ensuring the guest experience within all locations at the Resort is maintained to a high standard. Assistant Supervisors have a fun, professional attitude, possessing attention to detail and delivering the right product information to make the overall guest experience both memorable and tailored to business levels. Retail Assistant Supervisors report to Supervisors in their immediate location(s), and to the Retail Manager, working closely with Retail Key Holders and with Accounting, Security, and other administrative departments located across the Resort.
Job Functions
Working in a fast-paced environment and approaching potential sales and questions in a friendly and professional manner, working to resolve issues, obtaining merchandise, completing transactions, preparing merchandise for delivery, always with guest experience and company policy in mind.
Driving daily sales, putting staff to tasks, ensuring an exceptional guest experience in all retail locations (tasks including opening, closing, cash out duties, removing damaged or freshness-dated products, tidying shelves)
Attracting customers by originating display ideas, following display suggestions and schedules, constructing and assembling prefabricated display properties, and showcasing merchandise in windows, on sales floor, and in other high visibility locations.
Maintaining customer relationships by visiting with store managers, department managers and employees, answering questions, responding to special requests, describing product features.
Enhancing merchandising and company’s reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.
Administrative Responsibilities:
- As designate, supervising all retail staff, scheduling, and ensuring staffing levels are appropriate to business needs and demand (using Ceridian Dayforce).
- Overseeing all receiving, product transfers, distribution, and restocking.
- Ensuring stockroom standards are met and maintained.
- Timely reporting of any area deficiencies and incidents to appropriate departments and personnel.
- Assisting Supervisors with training (Lightspeed, till training, barcoding, stock room maintenance).
- Completing inventories (twice per season).
Experience/Requirements
- Previous supervisory experience is an asset.
- Retail experience is required.
- Merchandising experience and a creative skill set is required.
- Positive attitude, team player.
- Able to work in a confidential capacity.
- Experience with Microsoft Office suite of products (word, excel, outlook, etc.), is required, and working knowledge of additional computer systems is preferred. Must be able to learn new software quickly, or have experience with Retail Pro.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Must be willing and available to work a flexible schedule (weekends, holidays, and possible overtime).
Additional Considerations
- Employees must always be of sound mind, exhibit good judgment, and report to work fit for duty.
- This role must maintain a high standard of professional conduct at all times, particularly when in uniform and acting as a company representative.
- This position at times works alone, handles cash, and handles sensitive, confidential information.
- This is primarily an indoor role, but outdoor travel occurs, and both preparedness and the ability to move around in a remote, alpine environment is required. Some indoor uniform pieces are provided.
This role is subject to all terms and conditions of the Sunshine Village Employee Handbook and Policy Manual, and the Alberta Employment Standards Code.
