Lake Country Co-op invites applications for the position of Full-Time Team Leader onsite at our Home Centre location in Shell Lake, Saskatchewan. If you are looking to use your industry knowledge and leadership skills to take the Home Centre to the next level, then Lake Country Co-op is looking for you! As the Team Leader, you will oversee daily operations, ensure excellent customer service, drive sales, and supervise team members. You will lead by example and strive to maintain a safe and clean environment while you contribute to the overall success and profitability of the Home Centre.

What You Will Do:

  • Demonstrate the behaviors and actions to support Lake Country Co-operative’s vision, mission, and safety principles to make a difference in members lives, with a strong customer focused approach.
  • Provide Legendary Service at all touch points through various communication channels.
  • Initiate, develop, and implement policies and innovations that will ensure the growth in sales, service, and earnings.
  • Provide leadership to the team members and leaders in training, development, coaching, and performance management.
  • Achieve budgeted goals through pricing, sales, margins, expenses, and inventory control in each product category.
  • Prepare and present detailed and competitive quotes, material takeoffs, and project packages using estimating software and in-store tools.
  • Develop and maintain strong customer relationships with contractors, builders, and customers.
  • Oversee adherence to brand merchandising standards, marketing efforts, and image standards.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of building materials, home improvement trends, and building code requirements.
  • Manage in-store merchandising and promotional campaigns related to project materials and services.
  • Resolve customer issues quickly and professionally to maintain a high level of customer satisfaction.
  • Adhere to the Safety Management and Asset Protection systems, policies, procedures, records, and training requirements.

Who You Will Work With: Reporting to the Director, Home and Building Solutions, you will play a pivotal role in shaping and executing strategic plans and policies that drive growth in sales, service excellence, and customer satisfaction. You will inspire a collaborative, high-energy environment focused on teamwork, innovation, and delivering an exceptional customer experience.

Who You Are:
You are looking for a career opportunity in Home and Building Centre Management and Customer Service and:

  • You have 5+ years if relevant experience in the home and building, construction, or retail industry, with at least 2-5 years of progressive leadership experience.
  • You have a construction or carpentry accreditation, a solid understanding of construction methods, and experience estimating and quoting projects.
  • You have experience coaching, mentoring, developing, and leading a team.
  • You are well organized, can work independently, and demonstrate strong organization and problem-solving skills.
  • You work well under pressure and are savvy with balancing and meeting multiple strict deadlines.
  • You have strong oral and written communication skills and communicate effectively using multiple communication channels.
  • You are attentive to detail and hold precision and accuracy as core values.
  • You have working knowledge of Microsoft Office including, Word, Excel, Outlook.
  • You are available to work a flexible schedule; some evenings and weekends are required.
  • You carry a valid driver’s license (class 5 minimum); in addition, you must be able to perform the physical tasks common to the construction industry.
