Job Purpose & Responsibilities
This is a permanent, full-time position in the Corporate Services Department at the City of Cold Lake.
Reporting to the Finance Manager, the Finance Clerk is responsible for:
- Providing financial and administrative support to the Finance Department to ensure effective, efficient and accurate financial and administrative operations.
- Processing City assessment and taxation notices while also processing scheduled tax maintenance including address changes, land title changes, tax adjustments, and TIPPS.
- Processing and monitoring payments, expenditures, invoices, filing, and other general office duties as necessary.
- Processing utility billings, editing meter read downloads, and overall utility system maintenance.
- Providing excellent customer service, both to the public and City departments.
- Completing projects as required and supporting the auditing process.
Qualifications & Competencies
- Post-secondary certificate 1-year in Business or Finance.
- Two (2) years’ experience in Finance, preferably in a Municipal Government setting.
- Computer training in word processing and spreadsheets.
- The ability to communicate across the organization, including regulatory bodies.
- Proven attention to detail.
- Demonstrate a high standard of confidentiality.
- Must be willing to provide a criminal record check and an annual driver’s abstract.

Wage: 32.63/hr
Work Hours: Monday-Friday - 35 hours a week.
This position is within the scope of AUPE Local 118/016, and as such you will be required to adhere to articles contained within the Collective Agreement
