About the Position

Testing Services requires an energetic individual with strong organizational, technical, and interpersonal skills to serve as a Service Specialist II. Reporting to the Testing Services Coordinator, the Service Specialist II is responsible for performing day-to-day activities associated with proctoring exams for students from Lethbridge Polytechnic and other educational institutions, community members, and professional associations.

To effectively meet clients’ needs, the Service Specialist II must thrive in a fast-paced environment, working with frequently changing information and dealing effectively with large volumes of people.

Position Details

Job Duties:

  • Administering, proctoring, and supervising a broad range of exams (face-to-face and online) while maintaining high standards of accuracy and adhering to protocols to ensure exam security;
  • Providing technical support to individual students and external stakeholders for online testing;
  • Approving external proctors and providing instruction on the administration of Lethbridge Polytechnic placement tests and distance learning exams;
  • Using web-based calendar software for scheduling and managing exam bookings;
  • Maintaining a high standard of accuracy and confidentiality with keen attention to detail in processing information;
  • Providing high-quality, professional customer service to students, faculty, staff and other testing centre clients;
  • Providing support for administration of accommodated exams;
  • Supporting operations in both Testing Services offices, as assigned; and
  • Completing general office and clerical duties, as assigned.

NOTES:
Current students cannot occupy this role due to the requirements of the position.

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum two-year diploma plus at least one year of related experience; a combination of education and work experience may be considered.

  • Excellent interpersonal communication, time management, problem solving, and organizational skills.

  • Ability to exercise independent judgment in decision making.

  • Advanced technical skills required with demonstrated proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office Suite applications: Excel, Word and Outlook.

  • Ability to work accurately and precisely with tasks of a detailed and confidential nature.

  • Conscientious adherence to guidelines, performance standards, and policies is essential.
