Job Purpose & Responsibilities
This is an 6-month term, full-time position, with the Land Use, Planning, Development, and Regulatory Services department.
Reporting to the Municipal Enforcement Team Lead (Supervisor), the Administrative Assistant will be working at the City of Cold Lake’s Animal Care and Control Centre (ACCC) and is primarily responsible for:

Providing telephone and counter reception,
-
Processing financial transactions,
-
Being the initial contact for all public inquiries regarding the ACCC,
-
Managing postings on the City’s social media platform on lost & found animals as well as maintaining a professional image both in person and on the phone,
-
Serving as a front-line contact in providing information and resolving issues from the public, Managers and other stakeholders, as well as dealing with questions and the administration of processes and policies,

Working with multiple systems and all departments, and
-
Supporting Municipal Enforcement functions as required.
The greatest challenge of this position is to successfully manage multiple projects with extremely tight, inflexible deadlines with frequent interruptions. This position may have very limited contact with animals.
Qualifications & Competencies
- Post-secondary certificate or diploma in Administration or related field;
- Preference will be given to candidates with a minimum two years’ experience in an Administrative role, preferably in a Municipality or Government setting;
- The position requires strong customer service skills and a keen interest in assisting others;
- Strong communication, time management, computer, and organizational skills are required;
- The individual must have the ability to deal with the public and staff in a fast-paced environment;
- Must have the ability to work well both independently and as a member of the team while maintaining a high level of accuracy and confidentiality.
More Details
This position is within the scope of AUPE Local 118/016, and as such you will be required to adhere to articles contained within the Collective Agreement.
Salary for this position is $30.04/hr.; hours of work are 35 hours a week
Monday-Friday 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.
