We're looking for a seasoned Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) with leadership and management experience to join our executive team.

As the Chief Financial Officer (CFO), you will report directly to the Chief Executive Officer (CEO). You will manage and direct the accounting, financial reporting, capital and liquidity management, and interest rate risk management functions of the Credit Union. You will oversee the Finance department including the Finance Manager, Financial Analyst, and all activities and transactions that involve internal and external members. You will be responsible for ensuring Corporate Strength is aligned with the Credit Union’s strategy.

Your Spark:

  • A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree and a professional accounting designation (I.e., CPA).
  • 7–9 years of professional accounting experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Accounting experience in a credit union or financial institution is a strong asset.
  • Demonstrated excellence in leading high-performing teams and managing organization-wide operations and projects.
  • Outstanding attention-to-detail, communication, organization, and time management skills.
  • Demonstrated commitment to ongoing professional development.

The Interview Process

After the position closes, our HR team will work hard to create a short list of candidates. If you are selected for an interview, we'll contact you directly to set up a mutually agreeable time. Your interview will be conducted by a member of our HR team and the department manager. You should expect the interview to take between 45-90 minutes, depending on the complexity of the position. We may ask you to fill out an additional employment assessment after the interview. All the information needed to access the assessment will be given to you at this time.

After we have completed all the interviews and received all the assessments, we will make our decision. You will be contacted from a member of our HR team, whether you were our chosen candidate or not.
