As a key player in the financial services marketplace of Northern Ontario we are excited to announce that we are currently seeking a Business Relationship Manager.
Reporting to the Director of Business Relationship Banking, the Business Relationship Manageris responsible for proactively managing and growing a diverse portfolio of commercial and agricultural members within Durham, Chesley, and surrounding areas. This role is instrumental in building strong, lasting relationships with members, providing tailored financial solutions, and supporting the overall growth of Northern Credit Union. Working independently and in collaboration with a Business Relationship Analyst, the successful candidate will deliver comprehensive financial analysis and recommendations, ensuring high-quality portfolio management. This includes conducting annual reviews for compliance and product alignment, managing reporting requirements (including Past Due, Security Deficiencies, and Smartsheet tracking), and identifying growth opportunities through strategic business development.
In addition to core responsibilities, this role requires a deep understanding of the agricultural sector, including the unique financial needs of agri-businesses.
Preferred candidates will possess the following qualifications:
- University degree in Business, Finance, Agriculture, or a related field preferred
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in Commercial and Agricultural lending, with a solid understanding of agri-financing
- Strong time management and organizational skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities.
- Demonstrated proficiency in interpreting financial statements and assessing credit risk
- In-depth knowledge of credit structuring and lending principles.
- Proven ability to develop and maintain a network of contacts, both inside and outside the organization
- Familiarity of the region, its culture and lifestyle, and a focus on small and medium-sized business would be an asset.
