Position: Part-Time Venue Office Assistant
Compensation: $20 – $22 per hour (based on experience)
Hours: 18–24 hours per week (primarily evenings and weekends)
Location: Roma’s Hospitality Centre – Mississauga, ON
Start Date: July – August 2025
About the Role:
Roma’s Hospitality Centre is a family-owned Italian event venue specializing in weddings, social celebrations, and corporate events. We’re looking for a friendly, organized, and service-focused individual to join our team in a part-time Venue Office Assistant role.
This is a support-focused position ideal for someone who enjoys administrative work, reception duties, and being part of a small, fast-paced hospitality team. You’ll be the first point of contact for many guests and vendors and play a key role in helping the office stay organized and efficient.
Key Responsibilities:
Client Coordination & Communication
- Provide general venue information and conduct in-person tours
- Respond to phone and email inquiries in a timely and professional manner
- Schedule appointments for coordinators
- Answer phones and direct calls appropriately
- Greet guests, vendors, and clients
Administrative & Operational Duties
- Accept client payments and issue receipts as needed
- Assist in maintaining a clean, conflict-free schedule across the calendar
- Assist with social media content as needed
- Keep office supplies stocked and organized
- Ensure all client forms, templates, and documents are printed, organized, and readily available for the office, general manager, and event staff
- Perform general clerical duties including filing, data entry, and maintaining accurate records
- Create and update quote templates and send client quotations promptly
- Be flexible and ready to step in wherever needed to support the small team
- Take on other administrative or office support tasks as assigned
Venue Support Duties:
- Open and/or close the venue when scheduled (keyholder duties with training)
- Ensure the venue is presentable and guest-ready at all times
- Report any issues related to cleanliness or setup
- Collaborate with the team to maintain high standards across the venue
What we’re looking for:
- Experience in a receptionist, office assistant, or hospitality support role
- Friendly and professional communication skills — in person, by phone, and email
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to multitask and stay composed in a busy environment
- General familiarity with weddings, social functions, or corporate events
- Comfort working independently or as part of a small team
- Familiarity with European-style events or traditions is a plus
Requirements:
- Availability for evening and weekend shifts
- Strong verbal and written English skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
- Legal eligibility to work in Canada
- Able to work on-site at our Mississauga location
- Comfortable with key holder duties (training provided)
