Position Overview: The Data Analyst Intern will play a key role in supporting a major compliance initiative, which involves reviewing potentially sensitive information. This task requires the highest level of discretion and professionalism. In addition, the successful candidate may be responsible for developing and maintaining Power BI dashboards to support internal stakeholders. The role will also include contributing to special projects and providing general support to the team as needed.

This role will be an in-office position, 5-days a week.

The duration for the role is 3.5 months with an hourly rate of CAD$22 - CAD$25 per hour.

Job Description: Job Responsibilities:

  • Documentation of process that will be implemented for the duration of the Internship
  • Communication (both written and verbal) to senior leadership
  • Able to analyze data manually to inform and enhance query design for more targeted results.
  • Strong determination to investigate and resolve ambiguous issues through deep analysis and problem-solving.
  • Demonstrated ability to navigate and utilize new applications, even those with known issues, to achieve desired outcomes.
  • Develop and maintain reporting dashboards using Power BI for internal stakeholders
  • Assist in data analysis and visualization to communicate complex information effectively
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand business requirements and translate them into actionable insights
  • Provide technical expertise and guidance to end users on reporting tools and techniques
  • Stay updated with the latest trends and technologies in data analytics and reporting

Job Qualifications:

  • Currently enrolled in a degree program related to Computer Science, Information Technology or similar field of study
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Power BI
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Purview would be beneficial.
  • Strong understanding of database concepts and formation of queries to limit results
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to present complex ideas clearly and concisely
  • Detail oriented with strong organizational skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
