This high-impact, high-responsibility role ensures adherence to U.S. and international trade laws across our products and operations.

As the primary subject matter expert on trade compliance, you will develop a deep understanding of TAG’s manufactured products and apply this knowledge to make accurate tariff classification and valuation decisions. • Lead classification efforts for HTS and ECCN codes, determine country of origin, and develop valuation strategies to support compliant and optimized trade operations.
  • Apply appropriate customs valuation methods (e.g., transaction value, deductive value) to calculate accurate customs values.
  • Interpret tariff schedules to ensure compliance and identify opportunities for duty savings.
  • Collaborate with Finance, Supply Chain, and Operations teams to assess trade risks and implement scalable, compliant processes.
  • Communicate trade compliance strategies and risk insights to executive leadership.
  • Stay current on evolving regulatory requirements and proactively update internal trade compliance policies and procedures.
  • Prepare and submit Advance Rulings and regulatory correspondence related to tariff classifications, origin determinations, valuations, voluntary disclosures, re-determination requests, appeals, and other relevant matters.
  • Manage relationships with customs brokers, freight forwarders, regulatory agencies, and external consultants

Our Ideal Candidate - What We’re Looking For:

  • Bachelor’s degree in International Business, Supply Chain, Customs Compliance, or a related field (Master’s degree or legal background a plus).
  • 7+ years of progressive experience in international trade compliance, preferably in a manufacturing, tech, or logistics-intensive environment.
  • Deep knowledge of U.S. import/export regulations (including ITAR, EAR, and CBP regulations) and international customs laws.
  • Proven hands-on experience with HTS classification, ECCN, country of origin, and FTA eligibility.
  • Demonstrated success managing trade compliance strategy, documentation, and communications with regulatory bodies.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interface confidently with senior stakeholders.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate across functions and geographies.
  • Great attention to detail.
  • Certifications (e.g., Licensed Customs Broker (LCB), Certified Customs Specialist (CCS), Certified Export Specialist (CES) are a plus.
