Position Summary:****:
The Health & Safety Field Specialist provides frontline safety leadership at industrial job sites, ensuring safe, reliable, and cost-effective execution of work. With demonstrated field experience and safety expertise, this role supports the implementation and enforcement of company safety programs, driving continuous improvement and a strong safety culture across operations.
The hourly wage for this position ranges from $45.77 to $52.49, with an average of 10 hours of overtime per week.
Specific Accountabilities:
- Actively promote and uphold Brock's safety culture and values across site operations.
- Conduct regular field inspections, hazard assessments, and safety observations.
- Provide coaching and feedback to crews and supervisors on health, safety, and environmental (HSE) practices.
- Lead and participate in site orientations, toolbox talks, and safety meetings.
- Support the Emergency Response Plan and participate in drills and simulations.
- Assist with incident investigations, documentation, and trend analysis.
- Ensure compliance with company HSE programs, policies, and client site requirements.
- Maintain site safety documentation, including training records, bulletins, and inspection logs.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives related to HSE performance.
- Collaborate with site leadership and safety management to resolve safety concerns.
- Provide field-level support for safety audits and regulatory inspections.
Required Qualifications :
- Minimum 5 years of field-based experience in industrial construction or maintenance.
- Valid driver’s license and access to reliable transportation.
- Strong working knowledge of HSE principles and practices.
- Proficient in MS Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint).
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and problem-solving skills.
Asset Qualifications :
- National Construction Safety Officer (NCSO) designation
- OHS certification / diploma / preferred
- WHMIS 2015, CSTS-20, H2S Alive and other relevant safety certifications.
- Field experience in scaffolding, insulation, fireproofing, painting, or related trades preferred.
- Experience supporting site safety in a multi-disciplinary or industrial environment.
Conditions of Employment :
- Valid Class 5 Drivers License and Clean Drivers Abstract
- Ability to pass a Pre-Access A&D test
- Site Specific orientation and ticket requirements
