Job Description Job Summary The role provides advice, support and manages the administration of both Occupational, Non-Occupational Injury and Illness across the territory. This role will provide support to all ministry units across the territory in use of various case management software programs and provides assistance in the processing of and case managing all occupational and non-occupational matters, in collaboration with third party vendors with a focus on improving disability tracking and management throughout the territory.
Key Accountabilities
- Coordinates timely processing and case management of both non-occupational and occupational illness/injury claims in collaboration with third-party providers.
- Works with various stakeholders (HRBPs, Ministry Units, HR Service Centre, HR Operations) to ensure accurate coding, reporting, compliance, and return-to-work planning.
- Utilizes case management software system to manage and track active absence-related cases and maintain accurate records.
- Acts as a resource on disability policies, sick leave procedures, WCB/WCA provisions, and helps resolve claim disputes and appeals.
- Supports special projects, training, and educational sessions related to absence management and workers' compensation.
- Assists in the preparation of quarterly reports on absences and in the development of manuals and operational procedures.
- Partners with the Benefits team to ensure compliance with legislation and TSA policies and supports new policy or program development.
- Advises leaders on return-to-work programs and assists with modified or graduated return-to-work plans.
- Assists Ministry Units with system-related inquiries and the preparation of disability-related content and processes.
- Develops and delivers wellness programs and serves as a wellness ambassador, promoting resources such as EFAP to employees.
Education And Experience Qualifications
- Completion of a university degree in Health & Safety, Disability and Absence management.
- A minimum of 3-5 years of prior related experience, including consulting in a relevant area.
- An equivalent combination of education, training and experience may be considered.
- Bilingualism in French and English is preferred for this position both written and verbal in order to provide services to our customers and communicate with internal stakeholders in both official languages.
- The ability to maintain, in strictest confidence, information received concerning confidential matters such as complaints, grievances, labour relations, health & safety information and any other information deemed to be of a confidential nature.
- Tech savvy, advanced skills in MO.
- Independent and creative.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Attention to detail.
Compensation The target hiring range for this position is $66,831.48 to $83,539.35 with a maximum of $100,247.22.
Placement in the salary range will be based on factors such as market conditions, internal equity, and candidate experience, skills, and qualifications relevant to the role.
