Our Personal Insurance Strategic Governance team is looking for a Senior Data Analyst, Regulatory Reporting & Underwriting Governance ! Join this team to embark on an exceptional career journey! This is a unique opportunity to use your data expertise to empower Underwriting initiatives, enhance Risk and Controls, and ensure compliance with regulatory data standards. In this role, you will play a pivotal part in a dynamic team dedicated to pushing boundaries and striving for excellence.
In this role, you will collaborate with Underwriting analytics specialists and Regulatory data reporting analysts to turn complex data into valuable insights. You will gather and analyze data from various external and internal sources to identify important trends and issues, and then report your findings clearly. This will enable us to monitor and report on key performance indicators for Underwriting Policy, as well as meet our regulatory reporting requirements.
What You Will Do
- Work closely with Underwriting analytics specialist & Regulatory data reporting analysts in creating reports and visualizations to present findings to partners (incl. GISA, Facility Association, and GAA).
- Support in conducting data analyses to identify trends, patterns, and insights that can inform and support Underwriting Policy’s business strategies.
- Ensure data accuracy in the output reports, by performing validation and reconciliation of data queries and troubleshoot any data quality issues.
- Acquire clear understanding of business needs and have the ability to communicate and complete requirements.
- Overseeing data collection, storage, and management processes to ensure data integrity and accessibility.
- Support development of associated processes, frameworks, and standards.
What You Will Bring
- University degree or equivalent experience in Data Science, Business, Mathematics, Computer Science, or related field.
- 3+ years of experience in Business Insights Analytics, Reporting or a related field.
- Experience working in the P+C insurance industry and/or financial industry an asset.
- Good data programming skills in SAS/SQL, Python/R, Business Objects and/or QlikSense.
- Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey complex information clearly to non-technical audiences.
- Ability to collaborate and cultivate relationships with partners.
- Work collaboratively in a team environment and manage multiple initiatives simultaneously.
- Self-starter and proactive attitude with the capability to effectively execute end-to-end deliverables.
- Organizational skills and be able to work in unstructured environment with minimal supervision.
- Understanding of insurance regulatory reporting requirements and compliance standards is an asset.
