Role Overview
Porter's Management Group is building a dynamic network of seasoned Industry and Technical Experts to provide on-demand, specialized knowledge to support our consultants throughout their engagements. This is a unique opportunity for experienced professionals, whether currently employed, retired, or otherwise engaged, to leverage their deep industry and technical expertise on an ad-hoc basis.
As a consultant and subject matter expert, you will provide targeted consultations, typically a few hours per engagement, to address specific client challenges and opportunities in partnership with our project's primary consultants. This role is ideal for those seeking to contribute their expertise without a full-time commitment. You will be a valued member of our expert network, maintaining a professional title and participating in standing engagements as client needs arise.
Note: This posting is specifically for external applicants seeking to join our Ad-Hoc Expert Network. Current consultants do not need to apply. All existing PMG consultants are considered qualified subject matter experts and may be called upon to provide specialized support for consultations as needed. This role is designed to expand our network of external experts and provide additional resources for our consultations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Expert Consultation: Provide highly specialized industry and technical expertise through targeted consultations, typically lasting a few hours per engagement.
- Problem-Solving: Offer actionable insights and solutions to address specific client challenges.
- Knowledge Sharing: Share your expertise with clients and consultants alike, enhancing our collective knowledge base.
- Advisory Support: Serve as a trusted advisor, providing guidance and recommendations based on your extensive experience.
- Flexibility and Responsiveness: Be available for engagements as needed, accommodating varying client timelines.
Qualifications:
- Proven Expertise: Demonstrated track record (7+ years) of success in your area of expertise, with measurable, quantifiable results.
- Exceptional Communication: Ability to clearly and concisely convey complex information to diverse audiences.
- Problem-Solving Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a focus on delivering practical solutions.
- Flexibility and Adaptability: Ability to quickly adapt to new challenges and client needs.
Beyond the general qualifications, specific technical skills and industry-relevant credentials are essential. The following examples provide insight into our needs but represent only a portion of the expertise we seek across our most significant practice areas.
- Hotels & Restaurants: Candidates should possess proficiency in property management and point-of-sale systems, data analysis skills for revenue management, knowledge of food safety regulations, or familiarity with hospitality-specific technology.
- Finance & Financial Services: Experts must demonstrate advanced financial modeling skills, proficiency in financial software, knowledge of regulatory compliance, risk management expertise, or a strong understanding of financial markets.
- Technology & Software: Professionals should exhibit programming skills, expertise in cloud platforms, knowledge of cybersecurity, data science capabilities, or experience with Agile development.
- Professional Services: Applicants need proficiency in CRM and project management software, advanced research and analytical skills, expertise in legal or accounting software, knowledge of industry-specific regulations, or the ability to develop technical reports.
