THE ROLE
We are currently seeking a Full Time Deli Supervisor to join our Root Cellar team! As a Deli Supervisor in our Chop Shop team, you will be responsible for assisting the Deli Management team in overseeing aspects of daily department operations, including delegating tasks, training and developing team members, providing exemplary customer service, modeling and enforcing store policies, and assisting with the quality and presentation of our curated selection of fresh and cured meats, artisan cheeses and delicious house made salads. Our ideal candidate will have a passion for great local food and providing exceptional customer service. Previous experience in the food industry is considered an asset, but we are willing to train the right person with the right attitude!
Work collaboratively with our Deli Management team to lead and inspire Deli staff to ensure positive and memorable customer experience.

Supervise 3-5 Deli Clerks daily in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.

Assist the Deli Management Team in motivating, training, and developing staff.

Support Deli Clerks in providing exemplary customer experience and high-quality deli products.

Lead by example to uphold all company policies and procedures.

Strict adherence to monitoring and following all food handling procedures and safety protocols.

Ensure appropriate rotation and storage of deli products according to food safety guidelines.

Effectively respond to challenging situations in a positive and professional manner, including proposing new ideas.

WHAT YOU BRING TO THE TABLE
- Previous experience supervising staff in a grocery, food specialty or deli environment.
- Well organized, able to manage time efficiently and adapt to changing priorities.
- Strong customer service skills, a good communicator, and the ability to relate with others.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs/22 kgs and stand for extended periods.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule to meet the needs of the business; morning, evening and weekend shifts required.
