About the role
MECHANICAL ESTIMATOR - CONSTRUCTION
We are currently seeking a junior to intermediate mechanical estimator to join our estimating department. Position reports to the Chief Estimator.
The ideal candidate must have superb communication abilities and sound organizational skills. Other responsibilities include:
- Perform both manual and AutoBid take-off from mechanical drawings
- Reviews tender packages (drawings, specifications, and tender documents) for all tenders they are assigned. Ensure that project is created in AutoBid with correct material specifications, assembly details.
- Interprets customer bid requirements, to assemble detailed and complete Labor, Material, Equipment, and Expense summaries for review and closing.
- Coordinate with general contractors and clients regarding tender queries, RFI's and final submissions
- Prepare tender forms and lead sheet for chief estimator's review
- Prepare pricing comparisons for equipment and material quotations
- Attend site visits
- Collaborates with other estimators/divisions within company to help assemble detailed and complete multi-trade proposals.
- Provides support to the project on an ongoing basis, to Project Managers and Field Staff.
- Lead the project hand-over to the operations team. Review drawings, specifications and cost breakdown
- Ensure the strict confidentiality and privacy of financial records as they relate to the organization and its business partners.
- Follow up with clients as to estimate status.
Position requirements:
- Prior experience working in the construction sector. Mechanical experience is an asset
- Excellent organizational skills
- Familiarity with construction documents
- A working knowledge of computers in particular Microsoft Office
- The ability and desire to grow with the company
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: $60,000.00-$85,000.00 per year
