About the role

Relevant to the Warehouse Supervisors, the Shipping Coordinator will provide support to the Warehouse department and its daily logistical activities. The person will be responsible for the overall administrative and coordination of shipping and receiving.

Key activities

  • Support shipping operations: schedule, track, and manage BOLs and exports.
  • Enter and verify orders in the Warehouse Management System (WMS).
  • Manage shipping, receiving, and inventory accuracy.
  • Coordinate fleet and equipment schedules.
  • Monitor customer orders to prevent expired goods.
  • Issue the return merchandise authorization (RMA) as required.
  • Conduct inventory counts and rotations.
  • Maintain accurate warehouse record and documentation.
  • Ensure compliance with maintenance, quality, and safety standards.
  • Assist with inbound/outbound shipments and dispatch coordination with drivers regarding their routes and loads.
  • Provide customer service to visitors, contractors, and drivers.
  • Resolve shipping/receiving issues and discrepancies.
  • Collaborate with different departments to meet shipping requirements and delivery deadlines.
  • Adhere to all company policies and procedures.

Required Training And Experience

  • High School Diploma, GED or other equivalent education.
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in shipping and receiving, preferably within a manufacturing environment.
  • Thorough knowledge of shipping and receiving procedures.
  • Experience working in food manufacturing industry (an asset).
  • Knowledge occupational health and safety, and quality standards (an asset).

Skills sought

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, Warehouse Management Systems (WMS), and other integrated software.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, both verbal and written.
  • Collaborative mindset with strong relationship-building abilities.
  • Able to work independently and follow direction with minimal supervision.
  • Detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy.
  • Strong leadership and team coordination skills.
  • Excellent planning, analytical, and organizational abilities.
  • Capable of prioritizing and managing multiple tasks.

Specifics Of The Position

  • May be required to lift approximately 30-40 lbs periodically.
