About the role
The Postmark Hotel is seeking an experienced and dynamic Bar Supervisor to join our food and beverage team. This full-time role offers an exciting opportunity to lead our bar operations, ensure exceptional guest experiences, and contribute to the success of a thriving establishment.
As Bar Supervisor, you'll be a hands-on leader, spending your shifts actively working behind the bar while also taking responsibility for crucial supervisory duties. You'll play a vital role in maintaining our high standards of service, efficiency, and cleanliness.
Key Responsibilities:
- Bar Operations: Prepare and serve a full range of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages in accordance with hotel standards and recipes.
- Inventory Management: Accurately manage and maintain bar inventory, including ordering, receiving, and ensuring optimal par stock levels for all products.
- Team Oversight: Oversee daily bar operations, ensuring efficient workflow, adherence to service standards, and a positive working environment.
- Quality Control: Guarantee the highest standards of beverage quality and presentation.
- Cleanliness & Maintenance: Maintain impeccable cleanliness and organization behind the bar and in all related storage areas, adhering to all health and safety regulations.
- Operational Best Practices: Implement and uphold operational best practices, including cash handling procedures, responsible alcohol service, and inventory control.
- Guest Experience: Provide outstanding customer service, engage with guests, and handle inquiries or issues promptly and professionally to ensure an memorable experience.
- Reporting: Report directly to the Senior Food & Beverage Manager, providing regular updates on bar performance, inventory, and any operational needs.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a Bartender in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
- Previous supervisory experience in a bar or restaurant setting is a strong asset.
- Extensive knowledge of spirits, wines, beers, and cocktail preparation.
- Strong understanding of inventory management and cost control principles.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Smart Serve certification or equivalent is required.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs. and stand for extended periods.
Compensation:
- Competitive hourly wage of $19.20
- Gratuities in addition to hourly wage
