Job Summary:
Langara College is entering an exciting phase as it modernizes its Student Information Systems (SIS), implementing a comprehensive suite of solutions, including Workday Student to enhance services, streamline operations, and support student success. This is a unique opportunity to contribute to a transformative initiative that will shape the future of Langara’s academic and administrative operations. Reporting to the Manager, Organizational Change Management, Change Management Specialist will work closely with project teams and operational subject matter experts to understand the impact of the SIS program on people, processes and tools, develop department specific organizational change management strategies and plans, and communication and training material to support successful adoption of new processes and systems.
This role supports department leaders to understand and manage change by applying a structured change management approach, facilitation, development and execution of change management activities such as change impact assessments, change management plans, and communication and training plans. The Change Management Specialist is an integral member of the SIS OCM team, and works with the other Change Management, Communication and Training Specialists to understand and manage cross functional change impacts and stakeholders.
Job Description:
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Partner with operational subject matter experts and project teams to integrate project and change management plans and align strategies, objectives, and timelines. Maintain close communication with project teams to revise plans as needed in response to new information or technical developments.
- Conduction change impact assessments to identify department specific and cross functional impacts of the SIS program on processes, systems, tools, job roles, critical behaviors, mindsets/attitudes/beliefs, reporting structure, performance reviews, compensation, and location.
- Develop department specific change management plans in accordance with recognized change management methodologies, such as PROSCI and ADKAR, including identifying communication and training activities.
- Support operational leaders to be the visible face of change by executing change management plans including the development and delivery of communication and training material.
- Contribute to the design and execution of OCM engagement events such as Open Houses and Testing and Feedback sessions.
- Actively monitor execution of change management plans, report on progress and proactively identify and manage risks.
- Identify and support stakeholders, including conducting ADKAR assessments
- Apply evaluation methodologies to regularly assess the effectiveness of change management strategies and activities. Collect and analyse feedback, diagnose any gaps and remaining resistance, and identify process improvements.
- Perform other duties as assigned or requested.
Qualifications Required:
Education & Experience:
- A minimum of 5 years of combined experience in organizational change management, communications, training or a related field.
- An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered. Bachelor’s degree in commerce, HR, technology, communications, organizational management, or related field; Master’s degree would be considered an asset.
- Certification in organizational change management principles, methodologies, and tools such as PROSCI and ADKAR is required.
- Change management experience in Workday (or cloud-based ERP) implementations preferred.
- Solid understanding of change processes and their impacts on both individuals and organizations.
- Experience interacting with, and influencing, senior level management and executives.
- Strong knowledge of business process mapping and improvement/optimization.
- Experience facilitating diverse groups to achieve an appropriate outcome.
- Higher-education or public sector experience is an asset.
- Proven knowledge and continuous learning of organizational change management discipline and best practices and demonstrated contributions to practice improvement.
