We also have interest in several other oil sands projects, including Hangingstone, operated by Greenfire Resources Operating Corporation and Syncrude’s oil sands mining upgrading facility. In addition to our oil sands business, we have shale gas land in Northeast British Columbia, a power station in Balzac, Alberta, and interest in a wind farm in southern Alberta. Calgary is our regional corporate office for all North America.

Bold ideas, diverse perspectives, and the determination to fuel our success are what set us apart. Therefore, we are seeking a Production Engineer to join our growing team in Calgary, Alberta. This dynamic role will play a crucial role in supporting daily production operations, optimizing production efficiency, and ensuring smooth field operations. This full-time, permanent position requires a strong technical background in oil and gas production, with a preference for candidates experienced in Steam-Assisted Gravity Drainage (SAGD). The successful candidate will be responsible for data analysis, troubleshooting operational issues, and contributing to production optimization efforts.

Your Background

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (preferably in Petroleum, Chemical, Mechanical or Electrical).
  • Preferably registered as a Professional Engineer (P.Eng), or eligible for membership with APEGA.
  • 6+ years’ experience working as a Production Engineer, or in a related field.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in data analysis tools (e.g., Excel, Power BI) and familiarity with digital reporting systems.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
  • A proactive approach to learning and supporting innovation in production processes.
  • A strong technical background in oil and gas production, with a preference for candidates experienced in Steam-Assisted Gravity Drainage (SAGD).

Your Role with Our Team

  • Monitor**, analyze** and optimize production operations.
  • Compile and prepare statistical reports, including monthly summaries, to support management and operational decisions.
  • Assist in data collection, validation, and integration for production reporting systems.
  • Support the development and maintenance of digital tools and workflows to improve team efficiency.
  • Participate in production forecasting, target setting, and well performance assessments.
  • Assist in troubleshooting instrumentation and operational equipment issues, prioritizing maintenance and repairs.
  • Contribute to the month-end production data validation process for accurate production accounting.
