About the role

Are you a detail-oriented designer with a passion for festivals and visual storytelling? Join the Shambhala Music Festival team as a Graphic Design Production Assistant and help make Shambhala look as good as it feels!

The Graphic Design Production Assistant at Shambhala Music Festival will play a vital support role within the Marketing team, contributing to the creation of visually appealing assets that represent the festival’s brand. Reporting to the Graphic Designer, the Graphic Design Production Assistant assists in various design and print operation tasks to ensure the smooth deployment of printed deliverables.

  • This full-time, temporary position will work mainly at our office in Nelson, BC, with some work to be done at the festival site near Salmo.
  • Work Schedule: Shifts will be 8 hours, mainly Monday-Friday between 9AM-9PM.
  • Contract Dates: ASAP - August 20, 2025, with potential to extend.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Support the Graphic Designer in the creation of visual assets for festival signage, decor, and marketing materials.
  • Assist in all aspects of print production including file preparation, large format printing, sign fabrication, and installation.
  • Collaborate with the Marketing Team to ensure visual consistency and alignment with the festival's brand identity.
  • Provide design support for various festival departments as needed.
  • Contribute to the organization and maintenance of the festival's visual asset library.
  • Stay informed about design trends and industry best practices to bring fresh ideas to the team.
  • Undertake basic design tasks independently under the guidance of the Graphic Designer.
  • Adhere to festival timelines and deadlines for design projects.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications Include:

  • Degree or coursework in Graphic Design, Visual Arts, or a related field.
  • Familiarity with graphic design software (e.g., Adobe Creative Suite).
  • Enthusiastic and eager to learn about print processes and techniques.
  • Creative mindset and a passion for design.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Effective communication and collaboration skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a creative team.
  • Adaptability to a dynamic festival environment.
  • Familiarity with festival culture and understanding of target audience preferences.
  • Ability to work in a culturally diverse work space without personal judgments or bias.
