As the Executive Advisor, you will be instrumental in ensuring the Director successfully delivers on the commitments made to Council, and to the Project's funding partners, The Government of Canada and Province of Alberta. Leveraging your existing relationships across the City, you will collaborate with others across the business unit, department and corporation on issues management, and the coordination of cross-business unit deliverables. Though portfolio responsibilities may vary, the primary duties include:
- Prioritize, organize and manage workflow and deadlines related to key goals, requirements and deliverables in the Director's Office.
- Support the Director to critically assess and address the strategic and operational issues, opportunities and decisions that regularly arise.
- Compile, research, analyze and prepare correspondence, reports and presentations on behalf of the Director, including to Council and funding partners.
- Support and organize various initiatives from the Green Line LRT - SE Project leadership team.
- Coordinate cross-business unit activities and complete critical reviews of reports and other deliverables.
- Maintain strong relationships across the business unit, department, City administration and the public.
- Participate on various business unit and departmental committees.
- Monitor, manage, and assist with the coordination of reporting on business unit performance to the General Manager's Office.
- Lead and supervise the work and development of the Administrative Assistant in the Director's Office.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- A degree in a related discipline with at least 5 years of progressive responsible experience.
- Equivalent combinations of experience and education may be considered.
- Previous experience with infrastructure development or transit would be considered an asset.
- Successful performance in this position requires:
- Ability to execute a multitude of tasks in a high pressure, time sensitive environment where priorities will change. Situations are often unstructured and complex, which requires initiative and sound judgment and decision-making skills.
- Refined business acumen combined with an astute political awareness and willingness to work with all levels of the City, including the Mayor's Office and members of Council and other City departments.
- A strong knowledge of The City structure and its legislative processes and requirements.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Exceptional customer service and a professional approach with internal and external partners.

Workstyle
- This position may be eligible to work from home for at least part of the time as one of several flexible work options available to City employees. Such arrangements are based on the operational requirements of the position and employee suitability and are subject to change based on operational needs and corporate direction.
