About the role
Purpose of the Job: To support and influence the S&OP process, by orchestrating the building of an unconstrained volume and value forecast for supply chain planning execution and resource allocation.
Background
As part of the Supply Chain group, the Market Collaborating Demand Planner is a senior role where you will be responsible to develop, maintain and distribute regular monthly forecasts (volume & value) by SKU for new and existing products within our Personal Care business.
This is a key position as your forecasts will enable other departments at Unilever to develop production schedules, logistic budgets, inventory plans, financial, strategic and corporate growth plans.
You will be involved in all aspects of the business planning process and will interact closely with all internal departments, being responsible for achieving forecast accuracy targets.
What You’ll Do:
- Lead the development of annual statistically trended base forecast for Supply Chain, Marketing, Finance and Sales. Integrating forward-looking sales assumptions, historical trends, price changes, cross customer cannibalization, competitive activity, and product discontinuances for all regular business plans in order to provide guidance to the business unit.
- Gather business insights and help translate them into a demand & financial forecast
- Bring Customer Insight / Intelligence through
- Working with CBD, CS&P and CE to gain the latest field/customer insights that could impact the forecast
- Overview / understanding sales plans
- Support and contributing to Customer Activity Review
- Leading the Demand Review meeting
- Analysis of historical sales trends, POS information and shipment trends to support forecast assumptions.
- Use understanding of product life cycles to develop new item projections.
- Continuously improve forecasts through evaluation of promotional activity, inventory changes, consumptions trends, category trends, media and advertising plans or extended service level impacts.
- Support the Business Unit discussions with deep understanding of the market
- Ensure updated and agreed volume forecast are submitted and aligned with financial forecasting
- Monitor and evaluate the building blocks
- Support the portfolio management and segmentation
What You’ll Need To Succeed
- 3 years of relevant experience in Supply Chain, Planning (with a large focus in Demand Planning, S&OP)
- Proficiency using Excel, PowerPoint, Power BI and MS Project; Anaplan, FEU and Rapid Response System knowledge is preferred
- Agile, analytical and problem-solving skills, with ability to operate at all organization levels with keen attention to detail.
- Collaboration-first mindset, an organizational “connector” that easily works across organizational boundaries. Influencing without authority, and building rapport with senior stakeholders, outside of our immediate team.
- Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to build a strong rapport with extended teams and be comfortable in interacting with and presenting to senior business leaders.
- Ability to distill complex problems into actionable plans while influencing and collaborating with execution teams to drive successful integration plans.
