Job Summary

The Screening Program Clerk III is responsible for performing a variety of clerical administrative tasks including data entry, supporting clients' in accessing cancer screening services, appointment management, and reception duties for the CancerCare Manitoba (CCMB) Screening Programs in an efficient and effective manner.

Qualifications:

Required:

  • Graduate of a Medical Office Assistant Program. A combination of education and experience may be considered.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and the Internet.

  • Experience in a healthcare clinical environment, involving interaction with patients and the public.

  • Experience organizing and managing patient data using electronic clinical systems.

  • Exceptional organizational and problem-solving skills.

  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills (oral and written) – must have English 40s or equivalent.

  • Must have exceptional customer service skills, with the ability to adapt to stressful situations in a high-pace environment.

  • Ability to work independently, as well as a positive member of a multi-disciplinary team.

  • Works with a high level of confidentiality.

  • Must hold a satisfactory employment record.

  • Must be able to legally work in Canada

Will be assessed during the testing process:

  • Typing speed of 30-40 WPM.

Preferred:

  • Indigenous Canadian Citizen (Applicants must, at application, self-declare that they self-identify as Indigenous (First Nations, Métis and Inuit)

Assets:

  • Knowledge of Population Health and Screening Programs.
  • Experience working in Screening Programs.
  • Experience organizing patient data using Radiology Information System (RIS) and Picture. Archival Communication System (PACS).
  • Experience using Maxon BSP and PenRad.
  • Ability to speak French

CancerCare Manitoba (CCMB) is the provincially mandated cancer authority responsible for setting strategic priorities and long-term planning for cancer and blood disorders. CCMB provides clinical services to both children and adults. The cancer services the organization provides to Manitobans include prevention, early detection, multidisciplinary cancer treatment, supportive and end-of-life care. CCMB is also responsible for radiation protection throughout the province. In addition, the Research Institute at CCMB investigates all aspects of cancer and blood disorders, including research to improve the patient’s experience while at CCMB.
