We have an exciting opportunity for a highly motivated Policing Support Associate to join the Policing Support group of the Municipal Enforcement business centre within the Community Safety & Organizational Excellence Team on a temporary basis. The position reports to the Policing Support Team Leader.
The Responsibilities:
- Provide customer service at the front reception, on the phone and through applicable systems to internal and external customers.
- Administrative support to Municipal Enforcement and RCMP by creating documents, responding to emails, attending and documenting or transcribing meetings, processing invoices, cash collection, etc.
- Provide customers with information regarding appropriate statutes, documenting and accessing inquiries/complaints or forwarding to Municipal Enforcement and/or RCMP, or appropriate resource within an agency.
- Develop, enter, and maintain data into databases and existing systems or software to maintain records management.
- Efficiently navigate relevant systems and software to complete responsibilities through projects and tasks that support the work of the business centre.
- This position may also provide services to support a “watch” shift as required.

What you Bring
A combination of education and experience that would provide the required knowledge, skills and abilities to qualify. A typical way to qualify is equivalency to a minimum of a High School Diploma along with:
- A minimum of one (1) year related work experience in a fast paced, office administration position working with and completing data entry, records management and word processing.
- Proficiency in the use of various Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel, and Outlook).
- Ability to deal professionally, courteously and effectively with a diverse range of people, using judgement, tact, and sound decision-making skills.
- Ability to demonstrate proficient communication styles, including verbal and written communications to ensure messaging is clear, concise and accurate.
- Ability to establish and maintain cooperative, collaborative and productive work relationships
- Ability to preserve and deal professionally and responsibly with highly confidential information.
- High degree of accuracy and attention to detail
- Experience working within a policing environment utilizing electronic record management systems like Canadian Police Information Centre (CPIC) and PROS is an asset
- Knowledge of municipal government and law enforcement would be an assetd skills
