Dispatcher (Operations) - Montréal QC

We are currently searching for a dynamic Dispatcher to join our Montreal office. Reporting to the Inland Operations Manager, the dispatcher ensures smooth operations with the owner operators & service providers. He handles the dispatch, monitor operations (pickup and delivery), and manage invoicing, all related to activities. He/she also coordinates and controls the movement of trucks and drivers to and from the Bickerdike and/or Fairview Cove Terminal, respecting sailing schedules as efficiently as possible, in accordance with established procedures.
Tasks and responsibilities

Oversee customer booking data in order to provide accurate information to the Drivers.

Monitor and control movement of all carriers to ensure compliance with schedules.
-
Coordinate and plan the movements of all drivers and carriers to ensure compliance with schedules.
-
Ensure equipment availability and interact with the Customer Service Department.
-
Provide the data required for the establishment of rates to the Pricing Department, as needed.
-
Monitor and control movements.
-
Interact weekly with the Accounts Payable Department on brokers’ charges.
-
Respond daily to requirements from Compliance Service.
-
Replace other members of the dispatch team when they are on vacation.
-
Be on duty one quarter of the time, nights and weekends.

Perform other duties, as assigned.
Qualifications
-
High school degree or equivalent combination of experience and education.
-
Minimum of 2 years of experience in transportation.
-
Computer literate.
-
Bilingualism (French and English).
Skills
-
Strong organizational and priority management skills.

Autonomy.
-
Good oral and written communication skills.
-
Detail and deadline oriented.
