About the role
Cavendish Farms is looking for Farm Truck Drivers, Class 3A for a period of 4-5 weeks . Expected start date is end of September . The exact start date and period of work will be dependent on weather and business needs.
Work Schedule : Working for a farming operation, workers must be available to work up to 12 hours a day, weekdays and weekends.
Wages: $22.73 - $24 depending on the experience
Work location: New Annan, PE

Safely operating tandem trucks with a gross vehicle weight over 55,000 pounds

Performing pre-trip checks and documentation, requesting maintenance and repairs as needed
-
Effectively communicate with coworkers and management to ensure safety and the ability to plan work around harvest operations
-
Operate truck in field in variable conditions beside harvester as potatoes are dug and loaded at the same time
-
Understand and comply with all provincial road rules
-
Apply a high attention to detail in order to ensure the best results
-
Contribute to the team’s goals and provide feedback on how to better operations

Flexible schedule to accommodate harvest weather windows
-
All other duties as assigned

Valid Class 3A driver license

Clean Driver's Abstract
-
Farm experience and bulk hauling experience is an asset

Able to lift 50lbs regularly

Willingness to work outdoors in various weather conditions

Mechanical aptitude

Availability to work extended hours, evenings and weekends
