Based in our LeMarchand Mansion location, the Business Analyst supports the Lead Business Analyst in the planning, designing, developing and implementing of operational business solutions for First Canadian Financial Group, Group Benefits Division.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Evaluate business processes, identify opportunities for improvement, document & communicate business requirements in form of user stories and acceptance criteria, for the development team.
  • Monitor project progress by tracking activity; overcome obstacles related to projects; report progress; recommend actions.
  • Improve systems by studying current practices and designing modifications.
  • Document test cases and perform quality assurance and user acceptance testing on software related enhancements. Effectively communicate issues and progress.
  • Develop solution documentation, training documentation, support documentation, functional and technical specifications and other relevant document sets for support of their respective solutions.
  • As required, deliver training on processes & systems to various individuals and business groups.
  • Ensure all work and deliverables adhere to relevant business and IT security standards, governance policies, and regulatory requirements.
  • Research, learn and adapt new technologies, relevant industry standards and best practices.
  • Other duties as required.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent diploma in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business Administration, Management or equivalent education plus experience is required.
  • 5+ years of experience in business analysis and design is required.
  • Certification in business analysis, and at least, 1 Agile Certification (Scrum Master or Scrum Product Owner) is required.
  • Cyber security awareness is an asset.
  • Ability to produce business process diagrams along with functional and technical specifications based on requirements is required.
  • Experience developing and delivering high quality written and oral communications is an asset.
  • Excellent use of tools including but not limited to GitHub, JIRA, Miro, MS Visio, Teams and Slack is an asset.
  • Multicultural sensitivity is required.
  • Fluent in English with proven competencies in verbal and written communication is required.
  • Fluent in French or other languages with proven competencies in verbal and written communication is an asset.
  • Successful completion of a credit, criminal, education, employer reference/verification, and professional designation checks before employment is required.
