OVERVIEW
We’re looking for a creative, strategic, and detail-oriented E-Commerce & Visual Merchandising Specialist to help elevate our digital experience and drive online sales. This hybrid role is ideal for someone with a strong design sensibility and a solid understanding of e-commerce platforms, who can combine data-driven decisions with Obakki’s visual storytelling and artisan-first approach.
You’ll be responsible for the ongoing development of our online store experience—from product merchandising and visual layout to personalization strategies and performance optimization. This role sits at the intersection of design, commerce, and technology, ensuring our digital storefront reflects the quality and purpose behind every Obakki piece.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Lead the visual merchandising of the Obakki website, ensuring a seamless, immersive, and brand-aligned shopping experience.
- Manage product uploads, collections, categorization, and promotional merchandising in line with seasonal campaigns and new launches.
- Collaborate across teams—product development, operations, customer service—to optimize trade performance and customer journey.
- Oversee photoshoots (in Vancouver and abroad) and manage image selection to support product storytelling and merchandising plans.
- Monitor and optimize website performance, using analytics to improve product placement, conversion rates, and user engagement.
- Leverage personalization tools and integrations to create curated customer experiences and tailored product recommendations.
- Conduct A/B testing to evaluate the impact of imagery, copy, and layout decisions on user behavior and sales.
- Work closely with the marketing team to ensure campaign execution aligns with visual merchandising strategy and brand consistency.
- Troubleshoot functionality issues in partnership with development and IT teams to ensure a smooth and reliable user experience.
- Stay up to date with industry trends in e-commerce, UX, and digital retail to keep the site fresh, relevant, and innovative.
WHO WE'RE LOOKING FOR
- Experience in e-commerce platform management (Shopify).
- Strong understanding of merchandising principles and e-commerce conversion strategies.
- Design-minded with experience in visual layout and product storytelling.
- Proficient in Google Analytics, Klaviyo, Hotjar, and/or other e-comm optimization tools.
- Ability to manage timelines, content updates, and cross-functional coordination.
- Passion for impact, sustainable commerce, and artisan-made products.
- Preference is for Vancouver-based candidates, but open to remote work for the right individual
