The Opportunity:
Reporting to the Director, Support Service and Emergency Preparedness, the Occupational Health Coordinator will work closely with our Occupational Health Practitioner and Supervisor, Security and Health and Safety to ensure that documentation for workplace illness and injuries and staff medical leaves are collected and securely stored in our occupational health and safety system.
Duties and Responsibilities:

Administratively support case management including updating case files, sending requests and reminders for documentation submission ahead of deadlines, and ensuring that staff have access to all resources available to them.

Support documentation submission to WSIB, MOL, and CGMH for the purpose of claims management.
-
Complete new staff orientation documentation and submit required test and immunization requests as necessary.
-
Support recording of incidents involving workplace injury or workplace violence.
-
Support documentation collection and record keeping for the staff MRI assessments as required.

Maintain the accuracy of the documentation system (currently Parklane) for both H&S and Occupational Health
-
Administratively support the development and maintenance of policies and procedures.

Education and Experience:

Membership in good standing with a regulated health professional college in the province of Ontario
-
Current certifications in CPR and First Aid
-
JHSC Part 2 Certified preferred
-
Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of disability legislation and regulations including Duty to Accommodate, Employment Equity Act, Workplace Safety and Insurance Act, Human Rights Legislation, Accessibility Ontario Disability Act (AODA), Occupational Health and Safety Act.

Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of health and safety legislation including Occupational Health and Safety Act, Regulation 67/93, Regulation 213/91, Regulation 474/07.

Proficient in claims management software/databases

Demonstrated ability to interpret and apply policies and procedures.
Competencies:

Proficient in occupational health and health and safety software solutions and databases (experience with Parklane an asset)

Excellent time management and organizational skills

Ability to function independently with little direction.

Sound problem solving, communications (oral and written in the English language), public speaking, conflict resolution and decision-making skills

Ability to communicate in additional language(s) is considered an asset.

Employment Type: Temporary Full Time (approximately 6 months)
Start Date: In line with next Hospital Orientation intake
Hours of Work: Monday to Friday days. Please be reminded that as a Hospital, in order to provide the necessary patient care, our operations run 24/7. Therefore, depending on the program for which you are applying, it may be an expectation that you are available to work weekdays and weekends, as well as all shifts - days, evenings, and nights.
Wage: $35.41 - $42.05 per hour

Collingwood General and Marine Hospital (CGMH) is an 84 bed hospital located in Collingwood, Ontario (approximately 90 minutes north of Toronto) that serves more than 74,000 permanent residents and 3.5 Million annual visitors to the communities of Wasaga Beach, Collingwood, Clearview and the Blue Mountains.
