About the Role:
The Team: The Sell Side Business Development team is responsible for go-to-market initiatives, product strategy and data analytics to drive growth in the sell-side business across desktop and feed solutions. We work closely with internal stakeholders and clients to deliver product enhancements for user adoption. Internal Teams and divisions include Account Management, Customer Success, Product Specialists, Product Development, Client Services, and Marketing. Each team member is focused on a particular industry workflow, working to ensure the segment growth strategy incorporates the workflow nuances and evolving expectations of customers in that segment.
Responsibilities and Impact:
The Impact: This position will play a key role supporting the development of the Capital IQ Pro desktop product and data feeds offerings across Sell-Side user-types. The role offers exposure to all groups, opens doors for tremendous career opportunities within S&P Global. This is a high visibility, multi-dimensional role with responsibilities spanning go-to-market, market analysis, strategy, planning and product build/design. The position will involve interfacing with commercial and clients to ensure that what we build drives real client value and deliver campaigns to impact increase in usage and ACV.

Responsibilities:
Go-to-Market:
- Provide Sell-Side segment deal support to commercial partners for new business opportunities and account renewals. Provide customer demos/presentations as appropriate.
- Cultivate effective desktop and feeds product positioning for commercial stakeholders. Craft overall sell-side value proposition narrative, produce commercial and client friendly materials and design demo scripts. Such outputs should address financial institutions workflow challenges and leverage areas of product investment and innovation.
- Collaborate with Commercial Strategy and Client Insights team to cultivate targeted campaigns/tactics to accelerate product adoption within existing customers.
- Host education forums for commercial stakeholders, providing updates on new product features and recommendations for effective desktop product positioning
- Meet with clients to diagnose workflow challenges and understand evolving expectations from vendor products. Socialize learnings internally to inform desktop growth strategy.
- Manage all aspects of the client satisfaction and product experience process.
- Partner with Marketing to develop focused campaigns spanning different mediums: email, infographics, social media, webinars and industry conferences.
Market Analysis:
- Be seen as the sell-side industry expert. Keeping abreast of industry trends and developments. Including Generative AI (GenAI) themes. Pass on knowledge / learning through various internal engagements and forums.
- Monitor competitor developments and inform commercial partners of notable competitor developments and advise how to counter new threats.
- Proactively produce thought leadership (blogs, whitepapers, speaking at industry events)
Strategy & planning:
- Monitor overall financial performance/health of the financial institutions segment, with particular focus on win/loss analysis and usage patterns. Proactively engage with internal stakeholders to mitigate risks and scale successful deal scenarios.
Product Build & Design:
- Partner and closely with product management stakeholders. Attend steering committees/forums to coalize customer feedback. Drive consensus on sell-side desktop and feeds investment priorities and act as an advisor.
- Work with product capability owners to ensure financial institutions product development roadmap fits in with the overall segment product strategy.
- Actively participate in testing newly developed sell-side product functionality, ensuring it accurately responds to client expectations.
What We’re Looking For:
Basic Qualifications:
- Strong knowledge of global financial markets, various sell-side segment workflows, acquired from working at a financial institution or vendor servicing workflows
- Strong understanding of market and GenAI concepts and how they’re impacting sell-side workflows
- Strong presentation and influencing skills – written and verbal. Ability to take on internal and external presentation responsibilities
- Strong collaborative skills and proven ability to work effectively across multiple teams in a matrix environment
- Relevant experience working with clients on go to market strategy
- Highly dedicated, detail-oriented, and energetic personality, with the ability to work and thrive within a team environment
Preferred Qualifications:
- BA/BS in finance, business, economics, technology, or other related field
- Thought leadership experience (blogs, white papers, speaking at industry events)
- Familiarity with major data, research and analytics platforms
- Strong knowledge of Desktop solution serving financial institutions
- Ability to navigate product development tools
- Proven record of building relationships across client organizations
- CFA holder, or studying towards
- Working knowledge of CRM systems
