Your Opportunity at SECURE Reporting to the Director, Marketing and Production Accounting, this position is primarily responsible for assisting Marketing Accountants in managing all monthly processes and procedures for the Marketing Accounting group for all SECURE’s facilities.
The Team The SECURE Crude Oil Marketing team is a results-oriented group of professionals focused on maximizing value and building strong partnerships. In a fast-paced and collaborative environment, they work together to navigate market dynamics, drive commercial success, and support SECURE’s strategic growth.
Work Environment This full-time, permanent position based in Calgary, Alberta, and requires 40 hours per week in an in-office setting.
A Day in The Life The responsibilities of this role include, but are not limited to:
- Managing of group inbox daily and distributing emails to appropriate team members
- Managing validating and coding all crude, condensate and butane trucking invoices in Open Invoice
- Prepare and manage monthly Trucking Reconciliation file
- Assist the marketing accountants in preparing all monthly Crude Oil Marketing related accounting worksheets as required
- Assist managing Third Party Butane invoices and prepare and reconcile Monthly Butane Transfers price sheet
- Timely and accurate creation and distribution of invoices relating to the monthly cheque exchange process
- Other administrative or analytical duties as required
- Maintain professional and positive communication with existing customers
- Foster positive working relationships with all internal customers including field and Calgary area personnel
Skills, Experience & Qualifications The individual in this role will have:
- An undergraduate degree
- 1-2 years of experience within crude oil marketing
- Professional accounting designation complete or in-progress is preferred.
- Highly organized with an ability to prioritize tasks to meet tight deadlines
- Keen attention to detail and the ability to manage deadlines are essential
- Strong Microsoft Excel skills and working knowledge of Microsoft Office
- Proficient in data entry - ability to process a large volume of work and maintain a high level of accuracy in preparing and entering information
