About Red Chris Our Red Chris Mine, located in the heart of Northern British Columbia on the traditional territory of the Tahltan Nation. A short distance from Iskut and Dease Lake, Our fly-in, fly-out site offers access from various points across British Columbia and Alberta. Red Chris currently operates as an open-pit copper and gold mine with a promising future to transition to a high-value underground block cave operation. Your Impact

The Business Improvement Leader supports and drives business improvement initiatives and manages the improvement pipeline across the Red Chris Mine value chain, aligning company-wide Edge Performance strategies to deliver measurable value

As Part of Our Team, You Will

  • Deliver the Edge Performance program by identifying, supporting, and tracking improvement initiatives.
  • Facilitate benchmarking, data analysis, and business case development to identify and prioritize high-value opportunities.
  • Coach and support departmental leaders in implementing and sustaining business improvement projects.
  • Facilitate idea generation, root cause analyses, and cross-functional workshops to address performance gaps.
  • Track timelines, budgets, and value realization of business improvement initiatives.
  • Promote and maintain a culture of “safe production” aligned with company safety systems and procedures.
  • Lead performance visualization and data analysis using tools like SQL, Power BI, and statistical software.
  • Coordinate and facilitate regular reviews of business improvement initiatives to ensure sustainable implementation.
  • Engage with all site departments (mining, processing, tailings, etc.) to align efforts with site and corporate goals.
  • Drive compliance with Newmont and Red Chris policies, procedures, and government regulations.

Prerequisites for Your Success in This Role

  • Qualification in Engineering, Science, Mathematics, Business, or Computer Science is preferred
  • Site operational experience in mining, oil and gas, or manufacturing is highly desirable
  • Thorough understanding of improvement tools, systems, and value tracking within performance frameworks like Edge
  • Proficient in Lean Six Sigma, project management, or change management (certifications are an asset)
  • High proficiency with Power BI, Tableau, SQL, and Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
  • Strong ability to lead workshops, coach leaders, and facilitate cross-functional problem-solving
  • Skilled in time management, prioritization, and value realization tracking
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement abilities
  • Strong self-awareness, adaptability, and ability to foster inclusive team environments

Your Work Environment

Location: Red Chris Mine (fly-in/fly-out role)

Rotation: 15 days onsite / 13 days offsite

Conditions: Onsite in a remote mining environment, engaging with multiple operational departments

Requirements: Must pass pre-employment medical, drug and alcohol testing, and comply with all PPE and safety protocols

The expected salary range for this role is CA$126,200-168,300 . This range is tied to the British Columbia market for jobs performed in British Columbia. The salary offer to the successful candidate will be based on job-related education, training, and/or experience.
