About the role
The Opportunity:
The Dryland Program Leader II is responsible for the implementation of Dryland programs and services, in a safe and efficient facility, through the coordination of required human and physical resources.
This position will have specific facility related responsibilities depending on location the position is assigned. (Dawe or Collicutt Centre)
As our preferred candidate, you will have:
- Diploma in Recreation, Early Childhood Development or related field OR Grade 12 and a minimum 3 years’ experience in recreation program and service delivery.
- Level 3 Child Care or equivalent
- Childcare First Aid Certificate
- 3 years’ experience in child/youth program and service delivery
- Minimum 3 years’ experience demonstrating leadership and supervisory skills.
- Ability to handle public relations responsibilities effectively, to be firm and tactful in maintaining discipline with patrons and to respond calmly in emergency situations.
- Exceptional customer service skills.
- Demonstrated high level of verbal, written, and listening skills.
- Ability to communicate effectively with all guests as well as team members.
- Ability to work in conditions that may be noisy and mildly unpleasant.
- Ability to work weekends and shift work hours.
- Commitment to the City’s Cornerstone Values.
- Possession of a valid Alberta drivers license

Remuneration:
$32.61 to $34.53 per hour. While this role offers competitive compensation, we do not participate in the Government of Alberta top-up program.
Hours of Work:
40 hours biweekly, as scheduled. Shifts will include a mix of evenings, weekends, weekdays and early mornings as business needs are required.
Additional Information:
The term of this position is anticipated to be 12-18 months.
