About the role

Job Overview

The Camp Counselor for the Canada Summer Jobs (CSJ) Project at the Muslim Association of Canada (MAC) will support the successful operation of summer camp programs by helping plan and deliver engaging activities, supervising children, and ensuring a safe and welcoming environment for all participants. The counselor will work closely with the Camp Leader to support program logistics, camper engagement, and communication with parents.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in planning, coordinating, and executing summer camp activities and tasks
  • Supervise children to ensure safety and participation in all activities
  • Support in registering campers and maintaining accurate registration and attendance records
  • Take daily attendance and report absences to the Camp Leader
  • Respond to questions or concerns from parents in a timely and professional manner
  • Ensure programs run on schedule and that all required materials are prepared in advance
  • Collaborate effectively with other team members to foster a positive camp environment
  • Complete and follow up on incident reports, reporting all concerns to the Camp Leader

Applicants must:

  • Be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or a person granted refugee protection (Note: International students are not eligible)
  • Be legally entitled to work in Canada in accordance with relevant provincial or territorial legislation
  • Experience working with children and youth in an educational or recreational setting.
