The Opportunity:

Reporting to the Material Handling Supervisor, the Material Handling Coordinator is responsible for maintaining accurate inventory across raw materials, packaging, and finished goods, while supporting production coordination tasks that ensure seamless communication and execution between inventory, warehouse, production, and planning teams. This role plays a key part in day-to-day operations by performing cycle counts, tracking production outputs, coordinating product movement, and identifying continuous improvement opportunities.

Scope of Role:

  • Provide administrative and coordination support for operational functions, ensuring alignment with quality assurance and GMP requirements
  • Perform daily and month-end inventory cycle counts, investigate discrepancies, and reconcile inventory data with relevant stakeholders
  • Track production outputs, including units and excise stamps, and physically verify them against inventory software and quality documentation
  • Escalate discrepancies to inventory, quality, and production teams, and coordinate issue resolution.
  • Monitor and communicate product availability, in-spec status, release status, and product locations in coordination with planning and warehouse team.
  • Utilize ERP and inventory tracking systems to ensure accurate movement and consumption records for both controlled and uncontrolled products
  • Work closely with Procurement, Planning, and Master Data teams to ensure inventory levels and batch data are accurate.
  • Support the order fulfillment of Purchase Orders by coordinating with planning and warehouse teams
  • Oversee and execute the staging of raw and packaging materials, ensuring correct lots and amounts are debulked and staged per production schedule
  • Support production batch record reviews by resolving inventory and consumption discrepancies
  • Take a solution-based approach to communicate order status and proactively escalate issues to the planning and sales teams
  • Identify and lead process improvement opportunities such as Kanban flow between warehouse and production, Lean/5S improvements, root cause analysis, and initiatives that support one-piece-flow
  • Assist in implementing and maintaining ERP barcode system.
  • Perform additional administrative duties as assigned by the Material Handling Supervisor.

Knowledge and Experience:

  • Diploma or degree in Supply Chain Management considered an asset
  • Proficiency and experience with ERP and/or warehouse management systems preferred.
  • Previous 2-5+ years of experience in consumer-packaged goods warehousing and/or processing is preferred
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Programs (Excel, Word, Outlook and PowerPoint) is required
  • Must be comfortable and able to navigate database and inventory control software.
  • Forklift experience is an asset or have aptitude to undergo training.
  • Effective presentation, report writing skills and the ability to work individually
  • Highly conscientious and attentive; uses logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions
  • Excellent analytical skills and strong attention to detail
  • Strong commitment to professional development and knowledge acquisition
  • Excellent English communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Ability to be resourceful and proactive when issues arise
  • Multitasking and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks under pressure
