About the Role
We are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented summer student to join our Accounting and Administration team in Edmonton. This is an excellent opportunity for a post-secondary student pursuing studies in accounting, finance, or business administration to gain practical, hands-on experience in a fast-paced and entrepreneurial environment.
Overview:
The core responsibilities of the Accounting and Administration Summer Student include, but are not limited to, supporting the daily financial and administrative functions of the company in accordance with established policies and procedures. This includes assisting with data entry, document organization, and financial recordkeeping; and providing general support to the accounting team and Controller in day-to-day operations.
Responsibilities:
- Assist with data entry and document management for accounts payable and receivable
- Support weekly payroll and bank reconciliation processes
- Organize and archive financial records (both digital and physical)
- Help with vendor account setup and invoice coding
- Prepare Excel-based reports and assist with ad hoc administrative tasks
- Perform general office duties including filing, scanning, and receptionist support as needed
Requirements and skills:
- Currently enrolled in a post-secondary program in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field
- Strong computer skills, particularly in Microsoft Excel and Word
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Ability to handle confidential information with discretion
- Professional communication skills, both written and verbal
- Willingness to learn and take initiative in a team environment
- Previous office or accounting experience is an asset but not required
Hours of work:
Monday to Friday, 40 hours per week.
