Title: Business Analyst – Marketing Technology
Duration: 6+ months Contract (possible extension)
Location: Toronto, ON (4 days onsite)

Reports to: Senior Manager, Marketing Technology
About the Role
- The Marketing Technology (MarTech) team at Client is seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Business Analyst to support the development, implementation, and optimization of marketing technology platforms and tools. This role bridges the gap between business needs and technology solutions, helping drive data-driven, personalized, and scalable marketing initiatives across Client’s digital ecosystem.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with marketing stakeholders, technology teams, and vendors to gather and document business requirements for marketing platforms (e.g., Inbound secure channels digital marketing, email marketing, personalization engines, analytics tools).
- Analyze and map current marketing technology processes and recommend enhancements for efficiency, scalability, and improved customer experience.
- Coordinate with several internal and external stakeholders to deliver experiences and journeys per the documented and approved business requirements.
- Participate in solution design and architecture maps for journeys with the relevant tech teams and ensure traceability of technical solutions to fulfil business requirements .
- Translate business needs into functional specifications and user stories for developers and data teams.
- Participate in the evaluation, implementation, and testing of MarTech tools and integrations.
- Support campaign planning by ensuring data readiness, audience segmentation, and system configurations align with marketing goals.
- Monitor system performance and data flows across platforms, identifying issues and recommending solutions.
- Work cross-functionally with compliance, legal, data governance, and IT security teams to ensure adherence to regulations and internal policies.
- Create training materials, process documentation, and reporting dashboards as needed.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Information Systems, or a related field.
- 3–5 years of experience as a Business Analyst, preferably in a marketing technology or financial services environment.
- Strong understanding of digital marketing platforms such as Salesforce Marketing Cloud, Unica Interact, or similar tools.
- Experience with customer data platforms (CDPs), data integration, and segmentation logic .
- Familiarity with agile methodologies and tools (e.g., Jira, Confluence).
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, matrixed environment with cross-functional teams.
Preferred Skills
- Experience with marketing and personalization in financial industries
- SQL knowledge or experience with data querying tools.
- Understanding of privacy regulations such as GDPR, CASL, or CCPA.
- Certification in Business Analysis (CBAP, CCBA) or Agile Product Owner is a plus.
