About the role
Summary of Duties
RPNs are responsible for the total care of a group of residents within a Primary Nursing care delivery model within their scope of practice. The RPN supports the philosophy of Patient-Focused Care concept and principles and the Mission and Values of Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre. The RPN works closely with other members of the multidisciplinary team.
Qualifications/Skills
- Current Ontario College of Nurses Registration
- Current BCLS
- Diploma RPN or equivalent
- Demonstrated knowledge of Person Centred Care approach and principles
- Experience in Long Term Care required
- Cognitive support experience an asset
- Excellent assessment skills required
- Ability to work effectively and therapeutically in a setting with residents with dementia
- Demonstrated use of effective communication strategies
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Basic computer and key boarding skills
