Winter 2026 Sessional Instructor - EDUC 565 Child Development from K-12 - Werklund School of Education

The Werklund School of Education, Undergraduate Programs, at the University of Calgary invites applications for term certain Sessional Instructor positions for WINTER 2026 course - EDUC 565 S02 - Child Development from K-12 [online].

Position Requirements

  • A completed doctorate in education, but professionals with a master's degree will also be considered.
  • Five years of successful teaching experience at the elementary/secondary level preferred.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with school and community members.
  • Demonstrated history of ongoing professional development.
  • Highly effective interpersonal skills.
  • Evidence of creativity and flexibility.
  • Recent experience as a partner teacher or school liaison preferred.
  • Knowledge and understanding of the undergraduate program in Education and commitment to inquiry-based teaching and learning will also be considered assets for these positions.

EDUC 565 S02 - Child Development from K-12 [online]

Schedule: Wednesdays, 16:30 – 18:30 PM, from January 12 to February 11, 2026

This course will introduce theories and research on child development that are applicable to K-12 Education. It will cover cognitive development of children and youth, social-emotional development of children and youth, and the impact of context and culture on child development and wellbeing.

The Winter 2026 term runs from: January 05th to April 30th. Visit the Academic Calendar for all term dates. Further course details can be found via the Calendar, by filtering Subject code by EDUC.
