Job Summary
The Accounting Clerk is a dual-role position responsible for being the organization’s professional first point of contact and ensuring timely and accurate financial transactions. This role supports daily office operations, delivers excellent service to members, guests, and vendors, and maintains financial accuracy and integrity.
Job Duties and Responsibilities
· Manage full cycle of accounts payable and receivable
· Provide accounting and clerical support to the Controller
· Process supplier invoices and payments (cheques/EFT), including credit card statements
· Ensure proper authorization is obtained for all payables
· Prepare government and utility payments via online banking
· Compile and update Cash Requirement List for Controller approval
· File processed invoices and payment backups
· Process member postings including food and beverage, private functions, and corporate events
· Process end-of-day sales for all outlets
· Prepare daily deposits and apply online banking receipts to member accounts
· Perform monthly Pre-Authorized Debit (PAD) runs
· Enter and apply various payment types (credit/debit, cash, cheques) in Jonas
· Generate paper and electronic member account statements
· Email/mail monthly member statements and follow up on overdue accounts
· Make corrections and adjustments to member accounts as needed
· Assist with daily and month-end tasks, including financial statements
· Reconcile accounts and prepare journal entries as required
· Ensure adherence to internal controls and audit standards
· Perform other duties as assigned
Other responsibilities
· Greet and assist visitors, members, and guests professionally
· Handle incoming calls and emails efficiently
· Coordinate incoming/outgoing mail and couriers
· Provide administrative support including data entry, filing, and document management
Qualifications and Skills
· Diploma or degree in Accounting or Business
· Minimum two years of accounting experience, preferably in a club or hospitality environment
· Proficiency in Jonas club software preferred
· Strong written and verbal communication skills
· Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities
· Strong attention to detail and analytical thinking
· Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
· High level of integrity and discretion
· Ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment

Hours: Full-time, Permanent, 40h/week.
