Under the supervision of the vice president of Store operations, sales and marketing, the Director, brand creative services leads overall visual and audio identity, design and copy creation team for the company. This includes evaluating and understanding stakeholder opportunities/problems and delivering creative solutions across multiple mediums, including TV/video, radio, print, digital (email, social, web, display), exterior/interior store experience, proprietary brand development/packaging, presentations, internal communications and other as requested
More specifically,he/she is responsible for (for example):
- Holistic understanding of the entire brand and creative development process.
- Oversee, manage, grow and protect the O’Reilly master brands and proprietary brands by developing, maintaining and requiring adherence to brand style, guidelines, tone and customer experience.
- Direct and mentor a team as they oversee the creative process from concept to completion. Primary scope includes traffic, brand & creative development and audio/video production.
- Prioritize work and manage workflow across the department.
- Establish and ensure consistent adherence to the creative process and timeline, including the submission of properly written Marketing Briefs and Kick-Off Meetings to determine needs, budgets and deadlines.
- Ideate, design and deliver creative solutions for integrated campaigns while maintaining a cohesive look and feel for each project. Collaborate with freelancers, agencies and suppliers as needed or desired.
- Own the final work product by ensuring project solutions deliver against the brief objectives, company brand standards and are error-free (spelling, punctuation, grammar) before approving and/or presenting to stakeholders.
- Present, explain and sell creative/campaign solutions to senior leaders and stakeholders. Develop and grow the capabilities of team members and the department.
- Evaluate the future needs of the department based on company strategies and goals, and evolve processes, personnel and tools/technology proactively to keep up with those needs.
- Maintain smooth operations by regularly reinforcing department vision, mission, and goals.
- Maintain a strong understanding of industry trends, best practices, creative tools and processes to refine and optimize department growth and output.
- Other duties as assigned.
Skills/Education/Knowledge/Abilities
- Bachelor’s degree in art, graphic design, marketing, communications or other relevant fields.
- 5-8 years of experience managing traffic, digital and conventional design, copywriting, and audio/video production. Minimum 5 years of digital experience, including web, social display and emerging technologies.
- A solid understanding of brand development, design, copy and web practices.
- Ability to develop brand and marketing strategies and effectively communicate recommendations to stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
- Good problem-solving and project management skills. Must be a creative and strategic thinker.
- Excellent understanding of the full marketing mix.
- Up to date with the latest trends and marketing best practices.
- Knowledge and experience with Adobe Creative Cloud (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, etc.). Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel and Word).
- Knowledge of publication printing, MAC platform software and art files.
- On-site position only, with the possibility of remote work.
