About the position

The Maintenance Supervisor/Coordinator, Aircraft, will delegate and assign work as required to the team and self. They will oversee all maintenance activities, ensure efficiency and safety, and ensure safety requirements are maintained.

Level: As per the GAFAE Collective Agreement

Reporting to: Senior Manager, Heavy Maintenance West

• In accordance with the GAFAE Collective Agreement

Please note: the schedule for this role is 4 days on, 3 days off- Friday to Monday

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Must be able to perform, but not be limited to, the following duties and responsibilities:

• Responsible for maintenance activities carried out on the aircraft during his/her assigned shift;

• This includes, but is not limited to repairs, inspections, modifications, re-configurations, grooming and aircraft movements;

• Assigns ACA holders and mechanics to their various tasks. Supervises and guides them in order that they carry out their duties in a safe, efficient and economical manner;

• Ensures that all maintenance performed by employees working under his/her responsibility is to proper standards and uses approved materials and practices;

• Ensures all planned Task Cards), periodic inspections, and Deferred Maintenance Items (DMIs) are carried out in a timely manner;

• Ensures that all work carried out is properly documented in accordance with the PMM and that the proper certification is entered in the log books. In the case where a repair is accomplished to an aircraft that requires periodic inspections, advises the Director of Quality Assurance in writing;

• Ensures proper completion of all Aircraft Part Tags, both serviceable and unserviceable, are completed or originated on his/her shift;

• Responsible for the care and control of Company owned publications, tools, and equipment by personally ensuring that publications, tools and equipment are returned after use;

• Ensure facility housekeeping by personally ensuring that the hangar, equipment and office areas are left in a neat, clean and orderly fashion at the end of his/her shift;

• Ensures that any required Maintenance Irregularity Reports (MIRs), Service Difficulty Reports (SDRs), Daily Status Reports and Aircraft Problem Communication Reports are completed and sent in a timely manner;

• Responsible for OH&S compliance while on shift;

• Other duties as assigned.

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:

Include, but not limited to, the following minimum skills and qualifications:

• Must have 4 – 9 years related experience;
• Previous supervisory training and/or experience considered an asset;
• Must hold valid Transport Canada Aircraft Maintenance Engineers License M2 category;
• ACA on ATR 42, B-737, 737 Classic considered asset;
• Must be familiar with maintenance control – technical operation functions;
• Must possess superior interpersonal & communication skills for internal and external customers;
• Must be adept at managing multiple priorities and deadlines under minimal supervision;
• Must be available for night shifts;
• Ability to communicate in Inuktut a definite asset;
• Ability to obtain and retain an Airport Restricted Area Identity Card in accordance with the Airport Restricted Area Access Clearance Program regulated by Transport Canada.
