Job Title: Senior Privacy Consultant (Remote – Public Sector)
Job Type: Contract | Part-Time to Full-Time (25–40 hours/week)
Pay: $85–$105 per hour (based on experience)
Location : Saskatchewan
Contract Duration: 1 year (optional 4 years)
About the Role:
We are currently hiring a Senior Privacy Consultant on behalf of our public sector client. This is a remote opportunity, offering flexible hours and the chance to work on high-impact privacy-related initiatives with government stakeholders. The successful candidate will be instrumental in supporting privacy assessments, compliance analysis, and solution design related to personal information and security.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the development and delivery of privacy assessments for complex digital and multi-system solutions.
- Apply and interpret federal and provincial privacy regulations (e.g., FOIP, HIPAA, and comparable frameworks).
- Provide advisory services on privacy-by-design best practices and their application during solution development.
- Support the evaluation of new digital initiatives, identifying privacy risks, gaps, and opportunities.
- Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams to ensure privacy requirements are built into project planning and execution.
- Contribute to research, gap analysis, and documentation to support compliance and decision-making.
- Review technical and business documentation, proposals, and plans for privacy and data governance alignment.
- Engage in the design of solutions involving emerging technologies, including biometric data handling.
Qualifications:
- 8+ years of relevant privacy, compliance, or risk management experience.
- Proven expertise in delivering Privacy Impact Assessments (PIAs) in government or public sector settings.
- Strong working knowledge of Canadian privacy legislation (federal and provincial).
- Experience with privacy frameworks, privacy engineering, and security best practices.
- Familiarity with identity systems, biometrics, or other sensitive data use cases is a strong asset.
- Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills.
- Relevant certifications (e.g., CIPP/C, CIPT, or similar) are considered an asset.
- Post-secondary education in law, public administration, information technology, or related fields.
Work Environment:
- 100% Remote
- Collaborate with government stakeholders
- 25–40 hours per week, depending on availability and project needs
