About the role
Why is this role important :
In this newly created role, you will develop strategies surrounding the current claims process, with an initial focus on Loblaw equipment involved in motor vehicle accidents throughout North America. You will connect with current internal and external teams to ensure consistency and cost are reviewed, while maintaining a strong safety focused mindset.
What you'll do:
- Serve as primary liaison between customers / outside counsel / in the managing of equipment / 3rd party claim subrogation.
- Assist in developing internal claims management policy.
- Streamline claims management process.
- Investigate, negotiate, and resolve equipment claims to ensure that claims are analyzed for coverage, adjusted, and paid timely.
- Maintain and update Claims Management software / Truckmate
- Create reports and coordinate monthly phone calls with customers to track claims and identify obstacles to timely claims resolution.
- Maintain knowledge of claims procedures, SOPs, & carrier contracts to ensure claims are adjusted accurately and timely.
- Examine customer claims including minor to major accidents.
- Understand and qualify type of claims filed; investigate and analyze equipment claims for loss, damage, and delays to determine company liability and costs for damage or loss while protecting company and customer interests.
- Collaborate with Sales, Pricing, Operations, and customers regarding disposition of claims.
- Other duties as assigned.
What you bring:
- 3+ years of equipment claims experience in the transportation, freight forwarding, or 3rd party logistics industry.
- College Diploma or bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply chain or related field.
- Experience in the Logistics / Transportation or Supply Chain industries is an asset.
- Ability to work in a fast paced and demanding operational environment, sometimes without detailed direction.
- Familiarity with a claims management software and Microsoft Office products including Word, PowerPoint & Excel.
- Ability to function independently with little or no supervision as well as function in a team environment.
