We are seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Meat Manager to oversee our meat department. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in meat cutting and food preparation, ensuring that our products meet the highest standards of quality and safety. This role requires excellent customer service skills and a passion for the food industry, as you will be responsible for managing inventory, training staff, and providing exceptional service to our customers.
Responsibilities
- Manage daily operations of the meat department, including inventory management and product display.
- Perform meat cutting and preparation tasks while adhering to food safety standards.
- Ensure all products are properly packaged and labeled according to regulations.
- Train and supervise staff in meat handling techniques, customer service, and food safety practices.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization within the meat department and ensure compliance with health regulations.
- Engage with customers to provide product information, answer questions, and assist with special requests.
- Monitor stock levels and assist in ordering supplies as needed to maintain optimal inventory.
- Collaborate with other departments to promote sales and enhance customer satisfaction.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in meat cutting and food preparation within a retail or grocery environment.
- Strong knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices in the food industry.
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to engage positively with customers.
- Previous experience as a butcher or in a similar role is preferred.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively within a team.
- Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends and holidays as needed.
