Job Summary & Key Responsibilities
The part-time academic will be responsible for teaching: SLWK 3220 Sec 52, “Cross-Cultural Issues and Social Work Practice”. The course will be offered in the Winter Term, from January-April 2026. Note: this is an online course and part of the BSW program.
The part-time academic will be responsible for all aspects of teaching and administering the course, including preparing and delivering lectures and preparation and grading of assignments. Distance courses are taught using an online learning management system (LMS) known as Brightspace. Distance courses require on-line availability for consultation with students. In addition, the part-time academic should expect to be engaged in course preparations for one-two months preceding course delivery.
Qualifications/Requirements of Position
Critical awareness of cultural diversity as it pertains to race, class, gender identity and sexual orientation, ability, age. A knowledge base of diverse and inclusive cultural practices across the margins. A Master of Social Work degree, or higher, and previous teaching experience, preferably with online teaching.
Salary Range/Pay Rate
Per CUPE Collective Agreement
