We are seeking a Report Developer Intern who is passionate about utilizing data and analytics to help us deliver on our mission. In this role you will support the design, development, and optimization of Power BI dashboards and reports that provide insight into our fundraising programs, operations, and supporter engagement.

This role is ideal for a recent graduate who is curious, detail-oriented, and eager to learn. You enjoy solving problems with data, building reports that uncover trends, and collaborating with others to bring clarity and insight to complex questions.

You Will

  • Collaborate with business stakeholders to understand requirements and translate them into dashboards that answer key business questions.
  • Design, develop, and maintain Power BI dashboards and reports that are visually compelling, performant, and user-friendly.
  • Support the Senior Developer in delivering key performance metrics, forecasting models, and measurement frameworks.
  • Collaborate with Data Engineer to create standardized data views in the data warehouse that integrate multiple data sources (CRM, MailChimp, Finance) and maintain clear, up-to-date documentation outlining data definitions, transformation logic, source mappings, and usage guidelines to support consistency and knowledge sharing across teams.
  • Design, build, and test data models tailored for dashboard performance and scalability.
  • Maintain and monitor Power BI data gateways to ensure reliable and timely data refreshes, while troubleshooting connectivity issues in collaboration with stakeholders
  • Conduct data validation and quality assurance checks to ensure accuracy and reliability of reports.
  • Ensure reports are well-documented, version-controlled, and follow a consistent design and naming convention.

Qualifications

  • Recent graduate of an undergraduate or graduate program, preferably in computer science, mathematics, engineering, or related field is mandatory.
  • Experienced with SQL – able to write structured and efficient queries.
  • Experience building dashboards using Power BI (or equivalent tool) and creating calculated fields and measures using DAX.
  • Proficiency in optimizing large datasets and refining slow-performing queries and reports to improve efficiency and responsiveness in Power BI
  • Proficiency with Python considered an asset – understanding of core programming principles, able to transform data, and maintain automation scripts and internal utility libraries.
  • Familiar with Git – able to version control scripts and collaborate using branching and pull requests.
  • Strong documentation skills – able to clearly capture business processes and code logic to support collaboration and future maintenance.
  • Attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy and presentation.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to shape and develop requirements into practical solutions.
